The cash from dams swindle may be about to burst with the Sarawak authorities issuing warnings that levels in the Bakun dam have swollen to the point where flooding may occur. It would have been more honest to warn that a breach of the dam, due to its botched construction, could occur at any time.
Of course no amount of warnings would save huge numbers of people from danger of drowning should the dam fail, which is an ever-present possibility.
Unfortunately for the Taib regime rainfall is one of the few things in Sarawak that they cannot adjust to their wishes. No one wants the dam to fail but if it did no one should be in any doubt as to who is responsible.
