Twenty Billion Black Hole

It is announced that RM 20 BILLION of non performing assets (money speak for worthless) of Tabung Haji will be transferred to a central government agency to enable Haj payments to be continued.

While that is a worthy purpose it does nothing to conceal the fact that the former Tabung Haji managers racked up this enormous sum in dud assets. What fantastic financial incompetence!

Or is there more to all this. Did the purchases of these dud assets serve as a cover for the passage of enormous sums of Haj goers money to crooked BN politicians led by arch crook Najib?

In the light of the 1MDB scandal that seems all too probable. So it is not enough to install new management and offload these vast debts onto the taxpayer. There should be a full public investigation of the whole TH saga, preferably by an RCI so that responsibility for this financial disaster can be pinned down and so that any TH funds stolen or misapplied by Najib and his cronies can be publicly known and form the basis for further prosecutions.

No right-thinking Muslim would condone the covering up of mega crime of this kind which reflects not on the Muslim community as a whole but on criminal elements within it.
